S/4 HANA is the latest Version of SAP ERP. Whereas the previous SAP Version ECC 6.0 has ORACLE as the DataBase to store the Data, S/4 HANA has “HANA”as the Data Base. HANA is SAP’s own Data Base developed by SAP for the purpose of replacing ORACLE Data Base from SAP ERP System.

People are often confused with the terms HANA & S/4 HANA. Whereas HANA is a Data Base, S/4 HANA is an ERP Package. As we have Functional and Technical Modules in ECC 6.0 Version of SAP, here in S/4 HANAVersion also there are Functional and Technical Modules in similar fashion.
